Although we have numerous ways to combat perspiration and body odor, sometimes during physical activity, stress, or heat, we still have to deal with wet spots under our arms, and the smell they emit is nothing like roses. We will tell you what to do to get rid of these troublesome incidents.
Non-soap Hand Cleanser
If your sweat has started to smell bad, but you can’t shower, gently wipe your armpits with wet wipes. Next, apply a soap-free version of a hand cleaner.
Hydrogen peroxide fights germs and helps prevent unpleasant odors during the day. Add 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide to a glass of water and apply this mixture to your skin with a towel.
Oak bark is considered an effective remedy for excessive sweating. You can shower using the following:
- 10-15 tablespoons oak bark
- 6 cups of water
Add the peel to the water for 10 hours, boil for 2-3 minutes, and filter. Then you take a bath with it.
Crystal deodorant is a natural analog of conventional antiperspirants. It is composed of potassium alum, which has antimicrobial properties.
To use the crystal, you must moisten it with water and rub your armpits. It does not clog pores and lasts for several months.
If perspiration is very profuse, look for antiperspirants with aluminum compounds. They significantly reduce sweating.
And while many have heard that they can trigger other conditions, research hasn’t shown the link.
If wet armpits are a common concern, you may receive a botulinum toxin injection. It is used to treat hyperhidrosis, a clinical case of increased sweating.
The toxin blocks the nerve impulses that lead to the sweat glands, so sweat is not secreted. The effect of the injection lasts from 4 to 12 months.
When no antiperspirant helps, you should find out why from your doctor. If your diagnosis is hyperhidrosis, the sweat glands can be treated with lasers, as this decreases their functionality.
Heavy sweating can also be a symptom of a serious illness. If you notice that you are sweating more than usual, see a doctor.
