As we all probably know, eating the right foods at the right times is what keeps our health on track. However, there are some foods that don’t go well together, even if they are both equally healthy.

It is important to keep in mind that there are combinations of foods that can be harmful to our health, no matter how many health benefits each of them has. However, it is advisable to consult your nutritionist before making any changes to your diet.

We have put together a list of food combinations that do not mix well and can cause discomfort in the digestive system.

Bacon and eggs

Most people like to have bacon and eggs for breakfast, but are not fully aware of the health risks. They are healthy to eat separately as they are both high in protein, but when mixed together they can lead to digestion problems.

After eating 2 high-protein foods at once, it can take a while for your body to digest it all, especially since protein is the hardest to break down.

Not only that, but there is a lot of saturated fat in both foods, and bacon is high in sodium, especially if eaten in large portions.

Try replacing the bacon with carbs like whole grain toast and fruit with eggs, or stick with the bacon and replace the eggs with avocado and tomato.

Yogurt and fruit

Fruits are healthier when eaten on their own. When mixed with other foods, such as yogurt, it can cause a sour, indigestible feeling in the stomach.

If you want to add sweetness to your yogurt, try adding cinnamon as it has many heart health benefits, lowers cholesterol, and can soothe your throat. It can also ease the symptoms of a urinary tract infection in women.

If you have digestion problems after a meal, try mixing a quarter cup of yogurt with 2 pinches of ginger and cumin powder in 1 cup of water.

Milk and orange juice

Drinking milk and orange juice for breakfast can upset your stomach because oranges have acids that can curdle milk, making it look like a sticky substance.

This discomfort can last from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the acid levels. It can also cause bloating because milk takes longer to digest, and mixing it with citrus fruits like oranges can solidify the milk, leading to heartburn.

Burger with fries

The usual combo, a burger, and fries aren’t really considered ideal meals. Nutritionists say that it is much healthier to order 2 hamburgers instead of one with fries.

This can keep you feeling full longer because you’re eating more protein, you can eat fewer calories, and you can cut back on carbohydrates. By ordering 2 burgers, you can also control your blood sugar levels.

Water and food

While it may seem normal to have a glass of water with a meal, it can have many health risks if you drink it while you eat. First, it can reduce the amount of saliva you produce, which is the main factor involved in digestion.

It is diluted, which can prevent food from breaking down in the mouth. It can also result in weight gain, cause heartburn, and increase insulin in your body.

Have you tried any of these food combinations before? Will you switch to new eating habits?
